Gulfstream Speaker Series, Sept 17, 2014: Featuring legendary investor John Kim
The Gulfstream Speaker Series connects leaders and ideas from a global marketplace to inspire and influence our local community.
The first event featured legendary investor John Kim, co-founder of the Karamaan Group, and former personal investment manager to Michael Dell. John discussed his technology expertise and how he applies that in his investment fund and he answered questions from the audience.
John received his B.A. magna cum laude from Harvard College in 1995, where he majored in economics with a focus on econometrics and mathematical statistics. He received his PhD from MIT in 1998 where he studied game theory, industrial organization and econometrics. In 1998, Kim joined MSD Capital, the private investment firm of Michael S. Dell and was promoted to Partner in 2002. In 2008, he founded Karamaan Group, a long/short equity hedge fund with an emphasis on technology, telecom and energy.
